Saturation Point of Blogging

The Evolution of Blogging

Blogging is much like a microcosm of real life in so many ways. The natural progression of how the Internet and blogging are evolving reflect how things really are. In the beginning of almost anything, the individuals count the most.

Growing up in my home town, small family owned stores and restaurants were very prevalent. Then, McDonalds and Walmart opened…making it much more difficult for the individual to move ahead. In the very beginning of the web, it was similar for individuals becoming successful.

I see this type of natural evolution taking place at an incredible rate right now. Look at Google for instance. In the beginning, Google was the coolest thing around. Now that it has become so huge, the individuals, like us bloggers, have become numbers rather than people. When you work for a small business, the owners know your name. Work for a giant corporation and you are a number. The bigger you are, the less you are expected to care.

Being a blogger right now is totally different than when I started only a year ago. If you are wanting to make money, putting up a bunch of ads and hoping is not going to get you there…hahahaha!!!! Listening or following the way someone else says is NOT going to lead you to the promised land either.

The Art of Blog Sales?

Making money with a blog is based on your ability to sell…period…that’s all there is to it. The only reason the big money bloggers make big money is because they have convinced you…or sold you on the fact that they have the answers. This is the biggest lie in blogging. You just need to sell people on the idea that YOU have the answers they need to make money. In other words…you have to SELL them. You have to sell yourself…if that’s what you want. There are plenty of followers out there that will follow those on top or those who want to be!

Whatever you do in your blogging…do it honestly and know who you are…know what you want. I used to care about traffic and stats…but now, I do not care. I let go of all that. I make enough money to run this blog free.

Blogging is reaching a saturation point. With so many bloggers doing the same thing and trying to do things the same way…the common methods for doing anything are becoming more and more useless.

If you want to make money…you have to get out and SELL. I don’t read any of the big blogs anymore. I no longer need to read 500 articles on how to gain traffic. It is redundant. It’s all been written already. I feel so much better about blogging now that I don’t care about traffic.

I became a member of the upcoming money making machine uVme, perhaps you’ve heard of it. Basically, it’s on line gambling. I lost respect for uVme because they claimed that because their on line games (for winning money), are based on skill, thus is not gambling…hahaha!!!! Well…poker is based on skill, so I guess it’s not gambling either. I cannot stand a business that lies to suck people in. Especially a business that will destroy the credit of millions of people by getting them hooked on gambling. On line gaming for money is GAMBLING…no matter what they claim :!:

Enjoy Your Blog

I am just here to write whatever I want and have fun. It took a while but I am so much happier!!!!!!! I don’t want to sell anything. I just want to relax and enjoy. So many of you fight for traffic and check stats over and over. I haven’t even glanced at mine!!! I quit doing that. Maybe I’ll check it next year (or the year after next). If you want loads of traffic…ask yourself why.

I am just over any “How To” type of articles. Been there…read that, a million times. As many of you know…I have had some serious problems, but I feel GREAT right now. I lost sight of my original intentions and got all caught up in stats and other stupid competitive stuff. I got so pissed off about Google dropping my pagerank…that made me truly let go, for the first time.

It feels good to be free. It is my nature to be good at whatever I do. I have to learn every aspect and understand all of it from every angle and perspective. When I truly realized that pagerank made no sense and was ridiculous…I laughed. It’s not worth understanding. No matter what anyone thinks…it is just a theory. You don’t know and you cannot explain exactly how or why it works.

HAVE FUN BLOGGING!!!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!!!!!

    Hi Bobby,

It is really great and inspiring to read how you’re back on your feedfeet again, with such a positive post. I do think you’re absolutely right, the only way to keep on blogging (or anything else for that matter) is by staying true to yourself. Not doing it just for the money, or the ranking or whatever.. Just blog whenever you feel like it, writing about stuff that inspires you.
It really is just a matter of time before your readers (or at least, the readers you want) will drop by, and value you for it!

If there’s one thing I’ve learned this year, it is that by doing what you’re good at, what you enjoy (which often if not always is the same thing), you will keep on feeling great. Because, in remaining true to yourself, is where the positive energy comes from…

Wishing you a very merry Christmas too!

Thanks for the post. I recently started my own blog in which I mostly write about my newborn daughter and being a father to her. I don’t see how I even COULD sell that to anyone. I just like writing stuff, but I have to admit that two hits in the first week threw me a bit off. After all, there’s not much poin in writing if no one reads the text. Anyway, your text was pretty inspiring for a newbie blogger.

You were my first favorite on technorati a few weeks ago and I’ve thoroughly been enjoying your posts. Enthralled, frankly. You’re a great writer. I am struggling to “find my way” as a new blogger. Be yourself IS my angle… not sure how to be anything else and have spent so much bloody time trying to figure out Self so very happy to read this from you today. Although sure would like to know how to get more traffic - does is come with time? Being a great writer would help the cause, I’m sure. Hoping that will come eventually as well.
I can’t help looking at my measly stats - possibly a trait of a new blogger?? peace, MoeKerr

Hi Ellen!!! Thanks so much! I think all bloggers have to find what they like most. Blogging on a schedule doesn’t work for me and neither does limited topics. I enjoy a random approach. I will come visit you

  7. Revellian on December 19th, 2007 10:43 am

Thanks Riksa!!! Writing about your newborn daughter sounds like awesome content to me! What could be more important than that? It’s nice to meet you and you really made me feel good to know I inspired you a little

Thanks MoeKerr!!!! That really brightens my day  Sounds like you are a new blogger? I know exactly how you feel and I’ll help you out with some traffic by visiting you myself!!!

Thank you so much for the kind words…it really mad me smile! I will come visit

What a release to be able to write what you want isn’t it? I’ve given up checking my stats too.. it was just plain tiring. :)

When I started blogging…I wrote freely. When I got into learning technical stuff and following stats changed my content drastically. Now…I am back to the beginning again, right where I belong  Thanks Bobo…you have helped me free my mind!!!!! What a wonderful friend you are

Wow! Great post Bobby! I, too feel that I have wander far from my real intention of blogging and I’ve made major revamp of my blog recently, I removed all the affiliation and ads! I feel great doing it and only have relevant links on my sidebar. I’ve put up more artworks to share with fellow bloggers.

Great to see you happy doing what you do, Bobby. Merry Christmas!

Hi Emila! I run ads to simply pay for this blog but I will need to move to a more expensive host soon, one that can handle traffic. My host gets bogged down often…hehe.

I just feel better not thinking about things like traffic and how much I make. I will be writing much more varied content…wait and see!!! Thanks Emila…you made this Christmas very special for me. It lifted me up and helped me get my heart back into this blog

Smashing article Bobby. I remember a line from one of your posts way back … “write from the soul” .. that’s really what it’s all about. I’m not a frequenter of the “big blogs”, I’m a regular visitor of “Real Blogs”.

Since it’s almost Christmas, I know everyone will forgive me for reminding them about this one point : Our blogs have the tremendous potential of building bridges across the globe. If we make some money along the way, fine. If we don’t, fine. Let’s keep building bridges.

Merry Christmas to all my blogging brothers and sisters

I do have a competitive spirit in just about everything. Things that I consider art (such as blogging) has no place for competition. It hasn’t been easy for me to let go Karen
