Okay, here’s my experience changing the strap on my Cartier Santos:
So, I got this Cartier Santos a while back, and I absolutely love it. But, I wanted to switch up the look a bit and try a different strap. The cool thing about the Santos is that it has this “QuickSwitch” system, which is supposed to make swapping straps super easy. I was a little nervous, but I figured I’d give it a shot.
First, I gathered my stuff. Obviously, I needed the watch, the new strap, and this is super important – I was careful to get something soft,like a cloth, to lay the watch on, face down. I didn’t want to scratch that beautiful crystal!
The Tricky Part (But Not Really)
Next, I took a look at the back of the watch.You need to find these little buttons which locate at the end of the strap near the lugs. I press the buttons! Once you get that, you could feel the strap release.
After taking the original strap off, I grabbed the new one. I made sure the “QuickSwitch” part which has those little buttons was facing the right way, and then it’s basically the reverse of taking it off. I lined it up with the lug and very carefully pushes it until I heard a solid “click”.
- Make Sure It’s Secure! I gently tugged on the strap after I installed it. It shouldn’t budge. I did this on both sides. If it feels loose, take it off and try again.
And that’s it! Seriously, it took me longer to write this down than it did to actually do it. The “QuickSwitch” system really does live up to its name. I’m super happy with how easy it was, and now I can change up the look of my Santos whenever I feel like it. It’s like having multiple watches in one!
