Okay, so last week I decided to hunt down Bradley Beal’s old house in Maryland. Not to stalk him or anything – just wanted to see what NBA player money buys you out there.

Starting With Google Maps Like Any Normal Person

Typed “Bradley Beal Maryland house” straight into Google like everyone would. Real estate sites popped up but they were messy – old listings mixed with gossip blogs guessing wrong locations. Took me an hour just to confirm it’s in Brandywine. Found some ripped-up archived Zillow screenshots people saved on forums. House sold back in 2019, so yeah… tough start.

Driving Out To See The Place

Grabbed my phone and drove toward Brandywine Thursday afternoon. GPS led me into this fancy neighborhood with huge gates – private road situation. Security guy waved me off immediately when I slowed down near the entrance. Couldn’t even get close. Circled nearby public roads trying to peek over fences but only saw rooftops. Total fail for direct photos.

Scrounging For Official Records & Pricing

Hit up property tax records online (free public stuff!). Filtered by Brandywine and filtered for sales around 2010-2013 since I knew he bought it early in his Wizards career. Bingo! Found the exact parcel number. Place sold for $2.4 million in 2012. Screenshotted the county assessment page showing 9,300 sq ft on 4 acres. Bathrooms? Six. Of course.

Photo Workarounds That Kinda Sucked

Couldn’t get my own pics, so dug through Getty Images – those overpriced shots reporters use. Found a distant aerial pic from 2015. Cropped it hard to show the pool and balcony. Then stumbled on a blurry paparazzi shot from TMZ archives showing the front gate when he moved out. Upscaled it with some free app – looks rough but shows the brick exterior.

Mashing It All Into A Guide

Threw everything into a draft:

  • Location: Brandywine MD, neighborhood stays unnamed (privacy stuff)
  • Price History: Bought $2.4M in 2012, taxes ~$23k/year now
  • Photos: My crappy aerial crop + grainy front gate shot
  • Key Notes: Total privacy setup, zero chance of casual visits

Posted it late last night feeling half proud, half annoyed I didn’t get clearer shots. Maybe next time I’ll scout retired players’ homes… fewer gates probably.
