My golden mess of an oil journey
So I saw all those fancy videos about Golden Nature oils doing miracles. Seriously, everywhere. Figured, why not try it myself? Ordered that starter kit – lemongrass, lavender, peppermint. Whole thing smelled nice right outta the box, gotta admit.
First night? Kept it simple. Tried one drop of lavender on my wrists before bed, like they said online. Didn’t work like AT ALL. Maybe I expected magic sleep dust or something. Just smelled like… well, lavender. Pleasant enough, but nothing earth-shattering. Went to sleep same as always.
Next morning, I thought peppermint might wake me up. Mixed a single drop with some coconut oil, rubbed it on my temples. OOOWWWW! Strong! Felt like icy fire! Eyes watered, nose ran. Not the refreshing wake-up call I pictured. More like getting punched in the face by a snowman.
Alright, moving on. Tried the lemongrass one night after a stressful day. Ditched the dilution idea (yeah, I know, big mistake). Applied it straight to my shoulders. Oh boy. Skin went kinda pink. Felt warm. Too warm. Rushed to wash it off. Nice relaxing soak became me frantically scrubbing the sink area. Next day, my skin felt kinda irritated.
Then I remembered they talked about making room spray. Threw some water and a couple drops of lavender in a little mist bottle. Shook it up. Sprayed my living room. It smelled fine… for about three minutes. Seriously. Poof. Gone. Like I imagined the whole thing. Sprayed again. Same deal. Felt kinda ripped off, standing there like a weirdo spraying plain water everywhere.
A week went by, nothing amazing happened. Almost gave up. Then my head started hurting. Bad. Nothing else around, grabbed that peppermint oil diluted properly this time. Rubbed it on my temples again, with that coconut oil mixer. This time? The coolness actually felt kinda good. Not perfect, but way better than nothing. Maybe something here?
Tried lavender again too. Started using ONE drop mixed with jojoba oil on my feet before bed. Okay, this became my ritual. No crazy sleep stories, but I was relaxing quicker. Maybe it was just focusing on breathing the scent in? Who knows. It worked enough for me not to stop.
The big reveal? Disappointing truth bomb: That starter kit cost a pretty penny. Results were super, super mixed. Some stuff:
- Worked sometimes? Kinda? Like that peppermint headache relief.
- Totally flopped? Like the vanishing room spray.
- Kicked my butt? That stupid undiluted lemongrass episode.
Not the miraculous life upgrade people seem to push online. Feels like another bottle of hype mostly. Kept the lavender for bedtime – its okay. Others are gathering dust now. Maybe they work better for someone else. For me? Golden Nature smells nice, acts fickle.
