Alright, so I’d been on the hunt for a specific pair for a bit. You know how it goes, you see something and it just kinda sticks in your head. This time it was the red and gray Air Max 95s. Something about that color combo just looked right, you know? Not too loud, but definitely not boring.
Getting Started
First thing I did was the usual online scroll. Typed it into the search bar, looked through the big sneaker sites, the resale apps, all that stuff. Found a bunch, naturally, but the prices were all over the place. Some were okay, others were just ridiculous. And then there’s always the worry, are they legit? Especially on the resale market. You gotta be careful.
I wasn’t in a massive rush, so I decided to check some local spots too. Went to a couple of malls over a weekend. Walked into the usual shoe stores – Foot Locker, JD Sports, places like that. Asked around. One guy knew the ones I meant but said they didn’t have ’em in stock, maybe try online. Another place had 95s, just not the red and gray. Close, but not quite what I was looking for.
Finding the Pair
After striking out in person, I went back online. This time I tried being a bit more specific, looking at official retailer sites mainly. Nike’s site sometimes restocks, so I kept an eye there. Checked a few other authorized sellers too. It took a few days of checking back now and then.
Then, one morning, boom. Saw them listed on one of the main sneaker retailer websites, not Nike directly, but a legit big one. And they had my size! Didn’t even hesitate much. Read the description, double-checked it was the right colorway – the classic ‘wolf grey’ and ‘solar red’ kind of mix, I think they call it sometimes. Looked good in the pictures.
The Purchase and Arrival
So, I added them to the cart. Went through the checkout process, punched in my details. Standard stuff. Got the confirmation email pretty quick. Then it was just the waiting game. You know how that is, checking the tracking number every few hours even though you know it hasn’t updated.
Took maybe three or four days? Box showed up at the door. Pretty standard shipping time. Nothing too fancy about the packaging, just the regular Nike box inside a shipping box. Pulled it out.
First Impressions
Opened the lid, and there they were. Looked just like the pictures, maybe even better in person. That gray gradient on the side panels looked clean, and the red accents popped just right – the swoosh, the lace loops, the air bubbles. Picked them up, felt solid. Tried them on, fit was good, true to size like most 95s are for me.
So yeah, that was the process. Just a bit of searching online and in stores, some patience, and eventually found them on a regular retail site. Glad I grabbed them. They look great, feel comfortable. Definitely a good addition to the rotation.
