Okay, so I’ve been wanting to check out this Hamilton Hill Jewelry place in Durham for a while now. I kept hearing about it from friends, seeing pictures on Instagram, and generally getting the vibe that it was a cool spot. So, finally, this weekend, I decided to go.
First things first, I looked up their address and hours online. Gotta make sure they’re actually open when I plan to roll up, right? Nothing worse than getting all excited to go somewhere and finding out it’s closed.
Finding The Place
The drive there was pretty easy. It’s in a nice part of Durham, not too hectic. Parking was a little bit of a challenge, I won’t lie. I ended up circling the block a couple of times before I found a spot that was, let’s just say, questionably legal. But hey, it worked!
When I walked in, I was immediately struck by the atmosphere. It’s definitely got that cool, curated vibe. Not too stuffy, but definitely not your average, run-of-the-mill jewelry store. The lighting was perfect, the displays were really well done, and there was even some cool music playing softly in the background.
Browsing the Goods
I spent a good chunk of time just wandering around, taking it all in. They have a really interesting mix of stuff. Some vintage pieces, some modern designs, some things that were totally unique and handmade. I saw some gorgeous necklaces, a few rings that caught my eye, and even some really cool earrings that I almost bought on the spot.
- Necklaces: So many pretty ones, delicate chains and bold statement pieces.
- Rings: I saw a few vintage ones that were super tempting.
- Earrings: Almost bought some dangly ones, but I restrained myself.
I didn’t actually buy the dangly ones, but will try next time.
The Verdict
Overall, I’d say Hamilton Hill Jewelry is definitely worth a visit if you’re in Durham and looking for something special. Whether you’re actually in the market for jewelry, or just want to browse and appreciate some beautiful things, it’s a great place to spend an hour or two. I’ll definitely be back… maybe when I’m feeling a little more flush with cash and ready to treat myself!
