Got curious about all the talk around the Tissot PRX 35mm version lately. Decided to hit up my local watch dealer to check it out myself.
First hands-on
Walked in asking specifically for the smaller 35mm model. Sales guy pulled it out – first thing I noticed was how much lighter and comfier it felt than those bulky 40mm watches I usually wear. Slid it on my wrist and went “whoa, this actually fits normal people?”
Really playing with it
Stared at that waffle dial under the store lights. Couldn’t decide if it looked more like fancy flooring or breakfast cereal patterns. Kept twisting my wrist to catch the shine – way more sparkly than I expected. Then started fidgeting with the bracelet links. Super smooth sliding, no pinching at all. But the clasp? Total fingerprint magnet.
- Pressed the integrated bracelet against my palm – zero gap!
- Gave the crown a few test winds – crisp clicks but kinda stiff
- Compared the thickness to older models – definitely slimmer profile
Quirks I spotted
Got kinda obsessed with checking how noticeable the size difference really was. Borrowed my friend’s regular PRX and did side-by-side shots. Yeah the 35mm screams “regular watch” while the 40mm feels like “hey look at my watch”. Also noticed the markers look sharper on the small one – like they shrunk everything perfectly instead of just hacking the case.
Final thoughts
Kept wearing it around the mall for 20 minutes pretending I might buy it. Forgot it was there half the time – that’s how comfy it sits. Only thing that bugged me? The date window looks tiny as hell. Like squint-worthy tiny. Still think it’s great for small wrists. Definitely not a toy watch like I thought before trying it. Just wish they’d fix that microscopic date.
